the hubby and I are looking at buying a 2007 Saturn Ion. Any Saturn owners care to share? We didn't do a whole lot of research when we bought my POS Ford Focus (aka Ford F@#ked US) and we regretted it. We test drove it and it seems pretty decent...but most new cars do. Any info would be great!

In response to your consideration of buying a Saturn, I have owned 3 Saturns; a 1993 SL2, a 1995 SL2, and a 2002 L300. Currently, I still own the 1995 and 2002. I have had decent service out of all the cars. My 1995 has nearly 69K miles and the L300 has 36,000 miles. My suggestion to you would be to get a Consumer's Digest Report book and see what kind of rating it gives the Ion. Some people scoff at using it but I've always found it to give me a fairly reasonable description of the problems I might have to face. Hopefully, someone else will provide a better answer concerning the Ion.

However, I personally wouldn't purchase a 2007 Ion. A new Saturn small car is on it's way, and it is to be a vast improvement over the Ion. GM is short on details right now, but it is to be based on the Opel Astra from Europe.
