Which car is the best out of the wrx sti, evo 9 mr, or themazda speed6?

When car ads say the car is a V-4,etc, are they talking about the # of valves or cylinder placement shape?

I would have to go with the STI. The evo is definitely faster, by a few ticks, but overall the quality is a little suspect. The STI simply feels tighter, better constructed. The Mazdaspeed is a great overall car, but falls into a different category simply because it really can't pace itself with these "pocket rocket" type cars. I like the look of the evo more than the STI, but I would honestly worry about the overall longevity of the car, as it is pretty much a glorified lancer, which is a peice of crap. The STI is simply a impreza wrx with a horsepower bump and some nice seats and body kit. ask yourself this, would you rather drive an impreza or a lancer...seems easy enough to me.
