Pros to selling is that you get tons of exposure for your car. The con is the selling fees can get expensive. I paid over $100 to sell my car recently. But it was worth it because I not only sold it but got $1000 more than I had it advertised on Craigslist.

I don't really think there's a con to buying off ebay... because sellers are usually more upfront about damages and problems than a typical curb seller. Plus you can run a VIN# prior to bidding and most have tons of photos. Now there's no guarantee they will be reliable because both the cars I've bought off ebay blew their engines, but I paid so low that even with the cost of rebuild they were worth it.

Ebay is EXTREMELY expensive because they take a percentage of the total sale price of any item, INCLUDING a car which can be quite an expensive item, as you know!The Cons for YOU are obvious. Never buy a car without seeing it FIRST. Quite often pictures are misleading and the product you get could have flaws you didn't see in the auction (cosmetic and otherwise). If you get a Lemon, it's going to be a horrendous experience to try to resolve it.
