Alrighty well, these idiots must not know exactly what they're talking about since it is possible. I actually just bought a silver '98 Supra in excellent condition for $5,000. I was lucky enough to find it in an ad in the paper, they were trying to get rid of it quickly. I know this doesn't tell you where to find one, but I figured I'd give you hope because as rare as it is to find, it's still possible. Good luck!
