Question:
Some of the cars sold at the Barrett-Jackson auctions were said to have the factory worksheet included. Is the worksheet the actual routing used to guide the car from one operation to another as the car completed build at the factory? Is it possible to get the worksheet for new cars?
Answers:
Chevy Ex Cab Silverado V6 or V8?
I believe these sheets are called, "The Build Sheet". The sheet is showing codes that the factory used to know how the car was to be assembled, like, the engine, transmission, interior color and options etc. The people that want original cars want those included for an originality check. Newer cars like GM cars have the "build sheet" in the form of a decal usually placed in the trunk on the spare tire cover or on the floor etc. Others may have a decal in the engine bay or glove box door. This way, the options that were on the car when it was produced can be identified for the future to obtain parts. What is the best value car to get?
It usually is the sticker on the vehicle that lists all the options ect. You can save that, but there also might be another one in the cars interior, usually under the carpet in the back seat area.More Questions & Answers ...
