The best cars are either a Toyota Corolla, Toyota Matrix, Toyota Rav4 or Honda Civic, Honda CRV, Honda Fit. Even better are the Scion xA, xB, tC. I'm 26 and all through college, I've driven a Corolla, Civic and when I graduated I bought myself a Scion xA. I can highly recommend them all.

What is a good first car?

I would look to family or someone you can really trust to buy a reliable used car. If you are buying new, I would go with Honda or Toyota. Stay away from Hyundai or KIA. If you don't have anyone you can trust that has a car for sale, try talking to your family's banker. They may have a good connection. I did this for my daughter's first car and the banker knew of a Honda with low millage that was from an estate. Good luck, I hope this helps some. - Gary
