I'm showing my car to sell tomorrow, do I need to physically give him the title?

Question:
I can't seem to locate my title to my car, thought I had it but it seems to have gone missing.
If this guy who is looking at my car tomorrow wants to take it (which I am sure he is going to, says he's brining cash with him) so do I have to give it to him or can I do all this through the DMV? I have all the registration info and everything...
I know on their website i can do the "Notice of Transfer and Release of Liability" but the whole process really seems to confuse
can anyone help? I've never done this before. thank you!

Answers:

How much would someone pay for a car that a motor went out on?

Only if you expect him to give you the money...yes it is required to give the buyer the title as it is the proof of ownership.

whats the minimum amount that a used car dealer will finance? and whats a good down payment?

Go to your local tag office, they will help you

My obssesion....?

I wouldn't give you the cash if you didn't have the title to sign over to me. If he bought the car, you still legally own it until you and he sign the title. Buying the car without it puts you at legal risk if something happens, and you could take the car back legally (but unethically as you were paid) and wait for him to sue you.
