Car Buyer's Regret?

Question:
What do we do? We bought a '97 Jeep two days ago. We had it checked by a mechanic before buying it and knew we would have to fix some things, but it seems the mechanic found something new that could result in being a lot more than we were planning. Is there some kind of buyer's regret Law where we can take it back to the dealer within three or seven days?? If so how does that work and what should we do. We're in Utah. HELP!!

Camaro??

The site below explains your rights under the "Buyers Remorse" laws. I think your complaint should be with the mechanic that checked the car over for you and is now trying to sting you for more repairs? for that you will need to consult a lawyer. Good luck :-)

well I think in most states if you buy new or used from a dealer you have 72 hours to bring it back for a full refund in the same condition and i think you even have a 300 mile limit . Look over the contract now and waist no time!!

Some states do have a lemon law of sorts for used cars but based on Utah's attorney generals web site they do not have one.

Where can I look for good deals on vehicles on the computer?

Unfortunately "buyers remorse" doesn't apply either, this only applies in limited situations where a seller of a product has solicted a buyer such as a dor to door sale.

If you haven't done so you should at least discuss this with the dealer and attempt to work out a solution. But if they are aware that you had it inspected then chances are they won't help.

What's better Honda's (civic or accord) or Toyota's (camry or corrola)?

I'd be curious to know if the mechanic over looked this or was it something that happened after the inspection.

Car Dealerships??

If you paid for the inspection you may ask him/her why it was over looked and if they would be willing to at least participate in the cost of repairs.

Which car is a better value...Toyota, Honda, or Mazda? Why?

I hate to say it but it sounds like unless either the mechanic or dealer is willing to help then you are stuck with it. You could always contact the BBB and attempt a settlement of some type.

if there was nothing in your agreement, then you're out of luck. But if there is an X amount of days on it, then you should bring it back, take it to the place that you bought it from and talk it out with them.
