Vehicle Purchase ?

I am thinking of buying a 2003 Jeep liberty Sport 4x4, They are asking 12,900 for it but I won't pay more than11,700. is this a good purchse? Does anyone own a liberty that would suggest buying one or running from one?

Is it a gasoline engine model or a diesel engine. We rented a Jeep Liberty with a V6 engine last year and it used alot of gas. Not to good of mpg, but maybe the diesel gets better mileage.
