Why is the Edmunds retail generally lower than the KBB retail?

I had a car dealer tell me that they use edmonds price guide on their used vehicles as I was using kelley blue book to figure the price of a trade in I had and the edmonds gave you less money than kelley, it's crazy!

If you read about these guide books,they will clearly tell you that they are just a guide..They are not the bible on used cars..NADA,KBB and Edmond's..You can look at 1 specific vehicle in each book and they could be 2500.00 difference in the prices...They can not give a specific price anytime...
