How come when you buy something that cost thousands of dollars you still have to spend money on it ?

for instance when i first bought a computer i spent two thousand dollars on it when i bought it i found out i could not do any thing with it with out internet .Or when you spend 50,000 on a car you still have to buy gas ,oil change ,and a bunch of other things.

Its called upkeep. All you are paying for is the status of having the item, the cost of the materials and the outragous markup. You use the gas you have to replace it... nothings free. Everyone is out to make money on you!
