Buying a car from a private owner?
Crown Victorias are very nice driving cars to drive, and they last for a long time. I was looking at getting a Crown Vic, but decided on a Ranger. The Interseptor (police version) are sold after the car has been retired, but the computer is switched back for the factory computer, so all the police car preformance has been removed. Despite thier size, they are quite an easy car to drive, and they are a long lasting car. A buddy of mind just blew a rod in his at 330 000km and it still runs, it just has lost power and a bad knocking noise (engine is kaput), this was after he had neglected it for a wile. I've seen these vehicles get up to 700 000km before. In my opinion, they are well worth looking at. My buddy is looking inot another Crown Victoria because his last ones have treated him well (this last one died at 330 000km, and the one before died at 370 000km with neglected maintance) and both were ex RCMP cars. What sites are similar to Kelley Blue Book?
A Metro is a puny little gutless car that is an "ecno-box" car. They were made cheap and to run cheap, and when problems started occuring, the car was made to be discarded and then a new car bought. It takes a little wile to get used to drive a vehicle the size of a Metro to a vehilce the size of a Crown Vic, but once you get used to the size, you wont want to go back. The Crown Victoria has superior power, handling, speed, control, ride quality, comfort, its pretty much better in almost every way. Aside from fuel milage, the Vic is better, and for a vehicle of that caliber, it has a pretty good fuel rating.
How do you try to buy or bid on totaled vehicles by car insurance companies?
If you are not used to a big car,it will take awhile to get used to it after driving a Geo.That doesn't mean you should pass up a good used cop cruiser, they can be fast, fun and comfortable. How much is a Lotus car? 2007? 2006?
I used to work for the city and we had a word for people that bought our used cop cars, sucker. Usually it was "poor" sucker because people that could afford anything else bought some thing else <lol> Cop cars live a HARD life. They'll sit idling for hours at a time followed by a hard start and stop to chase down the speeder. The cops drive the car where they need to go, over curbs, on the sidewalk, down dirt roads, etc. Oh, don't forget the drunks and drug addicts spewing every bodily fluid know to man all over the back seat, <yuck>Should I sell my 72 Firebird Formula..?
After all that we'd plug up all the holes drilled for the stuff cop cars need and sell them cheap to the suckers. I'd buy a used rental car before I'd buy a used cop car. <you ever hear the saying "drive it like its a rental" its true>
Why are used cars in Ontario so much cheaper than in Alberta?
(Humming Blues Brothers Music)I need a reliable first time car for cheap. anyone selling or know a place?
Just like anything else some are better than others. I would stay away from any city/local police cruisers they really get abused and generally aren't well maintained. I would however recommend most former state police cars. Most are equipped with oil and tranny coolers and are well maintained. But it's a case of buyer beware The crown vic's and chevy caprices are nice cars with alot of power. and usually have a great deal of life in them. (This is where most of the cabs come from) Good Luck
Can I buy a car and turn around & sell it with out paying taxes in NY?
For one the police is like 20 times as fast as your metro becuase they are supercharged. Another is it will handle better because police cars have high perfromance suspension. So get the cop car.How do I get out of car that I'm $5k upside down on?
if i was looking for a dependable car to drive i would not buy a crown vic. These cars are driven hard all the time & you are at the mercy of the dept. that had them as to wheather they were serviced regularly. The police interceptor is crappy on gas plus when it blows you might as well buy a new motor. the motor costs as much to rebuild as a new one!More Questions & Answers ...
