Ummm... I would have to say acura because I just think subaru's aren't very good and I would pick an acura over a mazda anyday. Besides acura's are cooler looking and people think more of u if u have an acura over a mazda.acuras are worth more, subarus are crap, acuras are nice & reliable mazdas suck get an acura ppl like them more

Have you looked at Porsches? Seriously- my husband has had a few different kinds (911 and 928) the 928 we got for $9000 on ebay and it was great- it was an 82 and was super reliable and went like hell. Porsches are good till the last drop. They get better wtih age. Keeping it in the realm of imports you can go with acura, mazda, toyota, nissan, mitsubishi, or honda. form there you have to think what drivetrain do u want, front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, or all wheel drive. mitsubishi has the lancer evo, thats a good car. a good front wheel drive car is the 3000 gt from mitsubishi, a good rear wheel drive is something like a supra or a rx7. any of these cars can be under 15,000 it just depends on where u look and how old or how much mileage they have on them.My dad is looking to buy a Honda CR-V?

Well you have not looked too well at the RSX cause it does not have a Turbo and even though it has a Bose it is not what I would call a great sound system. As far as the Protoge it is a good one Speed Miata is great too! I bought mine with 15k miles on it for 14k here three months ago. Subbies are great reliable but new are pricey I am not sure if you could really get one under 15k..unless it has miles on it. Why don't you find an older Nissan Z with the Turbo?!? They were Awsome! I know a 450hp Protoge for sale on ebay with a 20k sound system on it, I drove it at the dealer it was built at and it was scary fastvery nicely put together for around 15kSubaru WRX
