Land Rover Owners...what price did you get below MSRP? What kind of money do you spend on yearly maintaince?

I looking to by my First NEW car. I drove a honda for years and i am looking to upgrade with a baby comming. I am digging the NEW LR2. Have no clue on what i am getting myself into. I just know i like it and plan to go offroading (casually-nothing crazy) with my brother (he has the FJ Cruiser)

if you know a good dealer, talk to them about finding you a preowned one. land rover makes a good vehicle (actually ford makes a decent land rover) but they lose value quickly that first year (as do all vehicles) but i have sold 1 or 2 year old range rovers/land rovers for nearly half of what they stickered for new. as far as maintenance i cant speak for them since ive never owned them. but.i sell extended warranties every day. each vehicle is rated on their cost to maintain and how often they break down. try pricing a land rover warranty. i sell toyota, chrysler, universal underwriters, and olympicare warranties. the only company that will even warranty a land rover that i sell is universal underwriters, and the last time i priced a warranty for one it was ranging between $5000 and $10000 just for an extended warranty. (which is ridiculous i agree) but thats evidence enough to me that maintenance is an issue w/ these cars. that same warranty on your buddies fj cruiser would cost you $1000-2000 retail.
