Question:
- i plan to get a Jeep Patriot - but my boss suggested something with a V6 engine - Patriot has only 4 cylinder ... does this engine type make a big difference?
Answers:
Does any have a car they can give me?
im a jeep dealer. the patriot is a great new vehicle that is being released. it is using the same engine as the jeep compass, base jeep liberty, dodge caliber, and pt cruiser. the patriot and the jeep compass are basically the same vehicle w/ a different body on it. what you have to consider is the weight of the vehicle vs. the horsepower/torque that the vehicle has. the more weight the more engine you will need. the jeep compass comes only w/ a 4 cyl but is a smaller vehicle. toyota makes the rav4, jeep also has the liberty in both 4cyl and 6cyl. the 4cyl is a great engine, but you will have a quieter ride/sound from the v6 than the 4cyl. gas mileage is going to be about the same (1-2 mpg more) since the 4cyl will have to work harder to move the weight. How do pawnshops make profits?
i own a repair shop, and one just has more power than the other one does ,and gets about the same mileage,as far as one being any better than the other one,the v-6 engines do hold up a lot better,Chevy has a nice one in the blazer and it has a v-6 and is priced about the same as the jeep is,really you have so much to choose from,it would be hard to buy one if you looked at all the ones on the market now, what you might want to do is go out and look a few of them, you,ll be surprised at what all is out there now, good luck,i hope this help,s.IF YOU COULD,...buy any vehicle...?
There are two general advantages with a 4 cylinder. Gas mileage and price. A V-6 Will give you more power - higher speeds with less RPM. I don't know about the newer Jeeps but I've often read bad things about them in Consumer Reports. Consider the Saturn Vue. Nice SUV. Very affordable. Your choice of V-6 or 4 cylinder. I bought mine new in 2003 for under 20,000. Take your time, and good luck!Where can I find out the value of my car?
yes it does, basically the 4-cylinder jeeps are city-use vehicles only and are good if you need it for what you would need a car for. but i have owned 3 jeep libertys (leases) and they have v6's in them. they use a little bit more gas but they are very nice. the only reason jeep has even made a 4-cylinder is because they are trying, like all american motor companies, to keep up with foreign car makers that are taking over the u.s.a.'Full service history' buying a new car question?
If you want a nice american small suv with a whole lot of power (but still great gas millage) and around the same price as a Patriot, get the Saturn Vue. Honda worked a deal with GM that involved GM getting rights to use the Honda J35 V6 in their Vue suvs. What that means is that the Vue offers a great, reliable, V6, japanese engine in an all-american car. You will never have reliability problems like you would in a jeep (or almost any daimler-chrysler product). Sure it might not stand out as much as the Patriot, but I personally think it looks nice and is an overall better deal. What are some of the most important considerations when buying a horse trailer?
I like the Patriot and the Compass, but I also like a very reliable car like the Ford Escape with a 5 speed transmission, or a Vue, very good cars all of them.More Questions & Answers ...
