96 Geo Prizm. Mine did 280k miles. it was used as a messenger car, all i did was change the oil on time, changed the plugs 3 times, 3 radiator flushes, 3 tranny pan drop changes. absolutely no parts, other than the spark plugs, belts, filters and tires. it did close to 30 mpg average city driving.- i sold it to an employee and last time i talked to him, he said it's still running with 450k miles.

They are a medium-sized car so you can pile a few friends in it. It won't look too much like your father's Oldsmobile because many have alloy wheels, spoiler, and sunroof. Should you be involved in an accident, airbags and anti-lock brakes may tip the safety odds in your favor.
The gas mileage is decent and the repairs will be moderate. I've seen many Bonnevilles with over 200,000 miles on them.

Any Grand Marquis, Town Car or Crown Vic- seen a bunch of them with well over 250,000 miles
