How do you find out if rims from certain automobiles fit on others?

I am looking to buy some used rims for a Dodge Caravan but is there any resource out there that would tell you that other vehicles have the same bolt patterns and sizes etc.?

junk yard or used parts stores will have interchange resources. Remember that the bolt pattern is not the only concern you also have to take the rims offset into account. this means that if the bolt pattern is the same it may fit on the vehicle but the rim may hit the caliper when in the front.

other than the owners manual, no. tirerack.com has wheels that will fit your car, they do the measuring for you. you could also go out there with a ruler and measure bolt pattern, diameter, etc. there is also another measurement you'll need, wheel offset. you lay the wheel down flat and put the ruler in the center hole. the number of inches from the table to the hole are the mesurement you'll need. than you can compare those numbers with the ones of the wheels you want to buy.

yeah im pretty sure your dodge caravan has a 5bolt pattern and most rims have on averge a 7-8in wheel base and it wouldnt hurt if you were off by a half and inch...but google used rims for dodge caravan or even type in used rims and you should be able to find a website that you can search through a gallery of used rims for your specific car, model,and make...

Yes you have to look that size of the tires on your vehicle. The number is on the actual tire. For example if your car uses size 15 for the tires you cannot fit them on 14 size rims. Good luck if you aren't sure call the dealer to ask
