You have little credit and/or is it bad? If you are young and just don't have very many trade lines open, many banks will take a chance on you. If your score isn't the best you may have more problems. I would recommend joining a credit union (if you aren't already a member) and then try to get pre-approved through them to purchase a car.

A dealership will have all kinds of financing options. They will rope you into something that is only good for them. DON'T TRUST THE DEALERSHIP!
Go to a bank and see what they have available. Unfortunately the interest rate might be high. You might consider a used truck that will be cheaper and make the payments easier to take.
My suggestion on a truck is Toyota, Tacoma or Tundra. It would suck to have a high interest loan and an unreliable truck like Chevy or Dodge.
Be diligent with your payments and your credit rating will go up. You might even be able to refinance your truck half way through the loan to a lower interest rate. Good luck.
