I'm looking to buy gently used 2000 to 2003 extended Savanna or Ford e 250 extended. How about the better of the two in terms of reliablility? Love diesels but need to know again more reliable the GM 6.5 diesel or the Ford 7.3 power stroke? If I go gas it'll be a V 8, wouldn't dream of the 6 cylinder. Need it to move boxes and stuff across country, and then just enjoy hassle free tooling around when I get there. Hate unreliability as I really take care of equipment well unlike many owners. Any tips for me on a purchase and reasons why is appreciated. Thanks

The 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel in the E-250 is pretty indestructible, supposedly I hear many positive things from the E-series, but in reality those vehicles take a beating, so by the time you get them used, I would look for some sort of maintenence schedule to make sure everything has been dealt with, and the person hasn't mis-treated it.Ford has not updated the E250 for 20 years. The Savanna has been improved several times in the last 10 years. I think the Savanna is a much better vehicle.
