Question:
I need to buy a different car. I would like it to be somewhat economical and one that will not break down every other day. I don't have anyone around to ask their opinion. Sorry if this sounds sexist... but I don't have any guys to ask. Hoping someone can help me. I am just looking for the basic... nothing sporty or flashy.
Thanks.

Saturns have a great reputation; I had one and loved it. Whatever you do, don't buy a Ford Taurus, their transmissions go out. I am a female, know a bit about mechanics--and a cheap car that actually is a GOOD car and runs--I have one that's a real beater--is a Chevy Celebrity!! Japanese made vehicles are pretty reliable. A used Corolla or Civic is nice if you can find one used. Of course, it will depend on the particular vehicles, but you're generally safe if you sick with Japanese, avoid Korean and European automakers. American are in the middle. Their parts are cheap. That's the short of it.Carfax Report VIN 1B4HS28Z6XF508649?
i own a repair shop, and i have to say Nissan makes the best one to buy, usually people just trade those in to update, i work on cars for a living, and Nissan's hold up a lot better now than the Toyota,s do,and they also get better fuel economy, everyone thinks Toyota ,is number one,not true, they got beat out this year by Chevy,in both car and truck ,so i think that says a lot for Toyota's right now,and there having a major re-call on a lot of there vehicles,,try looking at a few of the Nissan's ,they have some nice models to choose from, good luck,i hope this help,s.Infiniti I35 or Acura TL (previous generation)?
Any Japanese car except for the following:Mazda MX-6/626 (and the Ford Probe)
Late 90s/Early 2000s Subarus with the 2.5 liter engine (any others are fine)
Any recent (last 3 or 4 years) Suzuki except the Aerio and the SX4 (they're all Daewoos and they suck)

Looking at buying a Chrysler Pacifica, anyone know anything about them, good or bad?
Ford: Anything except the Taurus (which is okay, but not great), Contour (same), Windstar (drives great, but unreliable), and Probe; In any car that has a V8 available or a V6, do not get the V6. Those engines were crap. (Unreliable and inefficient)
GM: Caprice, Impala, 2000+ Monte Carlo, Buick Regal, S-10/Sonoma, Olds Cutlass Ciera, Pontiac Vibe, Geo anything (they're all Suzukis, Isuzus or Toyotas)
Chrysler: Anything with a manual transmission.
What is the total sales tax amount for new car bought in VA, shipped and registered in CA?
European: Mercedes-Benz and VW have had serious reliability issues in the last decade or so. Mini depreciates slowly, probably better to buy new. BMW is the way to go, IMO.
