Question:
I am looking at purchasing the above mentioned vehicle. My only concern is that it has 87k miles. I have always had foreign cars that last into the mid 150's as far as miles. Is 87k too many miles for a Domestic SUV? It is in great shape physically and sounds great. I put about 20k miles on a vehicle a year. Thanks!
Answers:
i own a repair shop, and that's not bad miles at all considering the year of it,i know of 02 models with already 100 k on them so the mileage is alright, the only thing you may need to have done to it around 125 thousand miles is have the timing chain and gears changed in it,gm uses a soft metal material to make the gears with, and they get kind of loose at that mileage and throw the timing off a little ,and don't run as good, other than that the vehicle should last you a really long time,i own one,and its been a good one,im at 95 thousand ,and getting ready to do the chain and gears in it also, but you should have real good luck from it those are nice vehicles, and give good service also, take care of it ,and it will last you long time, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.
How long must you hold a job in order to finance a car?
I have a 2000 5.3 P/U, which has 111000 miles, as to the soft gears, GM took care of that problem right away. The millage is vary good, if this is from a dealer i would have them change the tranmission fluid before excepting it, if a private party, get the price to include a tran change. With proper care you should be good for 150 - 200 tho miles
