Toyota is not a wholesaler or retailer. The automobile industry works kind of like the fast food industry. Private individual or companies pay a franchise fee to Toyota for the right to sell their vehicles and take part in Toyota programs. Toyota then sells their cars to their franchisees at invoice price. Depending on the car this is $5,000-$15,000 less than the low sided MSRP. FedEx as far as I know does not take part in the movement of it's vehicles. I don't know the companies involved, but Toyotas are in large part assembled in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. and then are moved by rail and tractor-trailer to their destinations. In the case of the cars that come from Japan, they typically come in at either the port of San Francisco or in San Diego. Those cars sit at the port until they clear customs then are loaded on rail and sent to their destinations.
