Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System vs 3rd party?

The upgrade from base model of civic si to add navigation is an extra ...$1750. Is that worth it or tooo overpriced? And how is the TomTom and Magellan GPS/navigation systems that I been hearing about and should I get those instead?
