The cars on ebay are way cheaper than what anyone would pay to a private party or a dealer. I am just confused how reliable those sellers are. Has anyone bought a car on ebay? How does it work? Do you get to see the car before making the payment?

Also, make sure to check out the carfax report at carfax.com...just to make sure the car hasn't been in any accidents etc.
I would definitely check out autotrader.com, I think its a much better site for used cars than Ebay. I found my last car on it and saved thousands and its been a great car. 98 honda accord ex, now has 90k miles on it and drives like new. I'm keeping this car for a long time.

I personally don't think buying a car on ebay would be very reliable. When it comes to selling something big such as a car, especially when there could be many potential things wrong with it, even things the seller isn't telling the buyer, I would be very weary. Also, if the seller is from outside of your area, and you want to see the car first, you would have to drive to the location, which could end up being quite a drive. If the seller was nice enough and honest enough to sell the car for a cheap price and explain exactly the details of the car, and not much is wrong with that, it would be an ideal situation, but that is quite unlikely.The transmission went out of the truck I bought on the way home. Look at what craigslist says: If buying buy local, look at what you are buying before you send $. At least the person has an address and a local # should any confusion arise. It actually lessens any chance of that.eBay is like any site, My mommy got a car from eBay, but she listened to us and looked at a car that was 50miles away, yes there was one just like it for $500 less, 2000miles away. So she got a car, all the local repair bills and it has run good since she bought it.

Like any place else E-bay has some good ones and some bad ones. Do a Car fax, See if the car has been inspected or if you can get it inspected. One last thing if you get screwed over E-bay will go after the party the screwed you and get your funds back.You can see the car if close enough before you make a payment. Just refuse it and tell E-bay why.What do you think of people who treat u differently based on what car you drive?
DO YOUR HOMEWORK! on the car you plan on buying, get a CarFax report, call and verify the "Seller" make it a local buy for your own good. try to make a check and drive date take a friend and a camera.I want to sell my car but I have a co-signer.?
