Question:
I am 17. I recently purchased a car with money that I had saved up. However, I was told that I could not have this car in my name because I am a minor. I am a co-owner on it with my father. Now everytime my dad gets mad at me for stupid ****, he threatens to take away the car that I bought and paid for with my own money. Can I own a car at 17 or do I have to wait until I am18?

Whats the best 7 seater car to buy?
It sucks but you would have to wait until your 18. It is your car too but is just something your father can hold against you when he is not happy with what you have done etc. Once your 18 go to the DMV and change the ownership. Get him off of it so he cant do anything about it.I need THE BEST WAY to convince my parents for a new car!! Serious answers please.?
I am a lawyer in Ontario. You can own a car when you are 17. You do NOT have to wait until you are 18.More Questions & Answers ...
