Here is the situation: I do not live in the U.S and here cars are more expensive than America. I have an offer to buy a 07 Toyota Camry 2.4L or a 07 Mrcedes-Benz 1.8L (some cars also come smaller here). They are almost the same price, which one should I buy in this situation taking in mind everything (fuel consumption, maintenance, resale value, comfort ...etc.)? And in normal situation which one should I buy then? And why, thank you!

The Toyota. It is a lot more reliable, and has an even better resale. Mercedes has had a lot of quality problems as of late (there are talks of seperating from Chrysler), and are expensive to fix once out of warranty. And while the Mercedes nameplate is nice, people can tell you are driving the cheapest version.I would get the Toyota because I am pretty sure it would not spend a lot of time on the dealers lift. Short of Mercedes just having a better dealer network in your area, they have almost no advantages over the Toyotas.
