Question:
I know they say that their prices are "no haggle," but do they EVER come down on their prices for a customer? I found a car at Carmax that I really like, but it's priced around $4,000 more than the Edmund's "true retail value." I'd love to buy the car, but I feel like I might be able to find a better deal somewhere else.
Answers:
Does anybody know of a place in Iowa that sells Volkswagen rabbit diesels for cheap?
Coach
GMC Envoy or Chevy Trailblazer?
nope and neverhow many people can own only one car?
no they never negotiate period. especially $4000 off$4,000.00 over the life of the loan will hit better than $6,000.00. If the car is that far over valued by CarMax, they want to own it even more than you do. Find another car another place.
You need to remember that Edmunds is a guide, not the holy bible on pricing. Carmax is usually pretty fair with their pricing. If you don't like the price, look around. You obviously have an internet connection, there are countless used car websites that can show you pictures and pricing of whatever you are looking for. Good Luck.
If you have a trade, use that as a negotiation price. If they want your business bad enough they will work with you. In order to get a good deal, managers like to see cash down payments and a written offer to buy TODAY. Do it this way, take a piece of paper and write "will buy today for a difference of ___." for example the car you want to buy is 15,000. You believe your car is worth $8,000. the difference is $7,000. Also don't get locked into a monthly payment negotiation. Or else you will be paying off the car forever.
would having damage to the oil pan significantly decrease the value of my car?
i have always found them to be over priced wait till you find anotherCarmax doesnot negotiate but we do...justmercedes.com
