I have a foreclosure (couldn't afford my house anymore), a repossession of my husband's vehicle (he was taken to prison so I couldn't afford the truck by myself) and a bankruptcy to boot. I need to purchase a new (a good used one would be fine for my kids and me) car since mine is on it's last legs, but with my now bad credit (which was near perfect before the divorce) it doesn't look like I have many options available. I also owe more than the car is worth (upside down loan?) and don't have much for a down payment. It looks hopeless, doesn't it...

by the sounds of your situation... what i suggest is buying a cheap beater that runs... it might not be pretty but when push comes to shove and they repossess it, atleast they only take a peice of junk away... then you can buy another one... i wouldnt get into anything new at this point if i was in your shoes...
