Is it a good idea to wait to buy a hybrid SUV?

I'm thinking I want to buy one, but the technology and selection seem to be improving. I don't want to blow bucks on something that I could have waited a year or two and done better with. I want one that will carry atleast 7 passengers and it not a minivan. no minivans.

there r 2 trains of thought on the hybrid. 1 is buy now b4 the gas prices drive the price of the hybrid up and the other is give it a couple more years to get the kinks out. Just don't buy 1 that this is the 1st year for that model. By the way, they also say the mpg isn't quite as good as the mnfacturer says it is.
