A word of advice...don't purchase any used car with that many miles. Regardless of what the seller says you're inheriting someone elses problems. Typically of vehicles in that mileage range you're going to experience transmission and or emissions problems (bad catalytic converters etc). I think that the Jimmy or Blazer is probably a better idea. Try to get the lowest mileage possible within your budget. Be extra careful to test the 4x4 if you are getting a vehicle with four-wheel drive. A lot of the older Blazers have push button 4x4 and the sensors break and the 4x4 will either not engage or engage on its own.
Car leasing/pricing?
You are always better off to buy from a private sale. Dealers add on to the price because in most (if not all) states, they are required to sell vehicles that will pass inspection (a good thing as a buyer) but you can usually find the same condition car from a private sale for $100's less.

I had a 99 grand am with just over 90k when i traded it in. Overall, I wasn't happy with the car. It was especially problematic over the last 5-10k, I ended up getting a different vehicle just to be able to pass state inpection. I kept the vehicle serviced and fixed most problems as soon as they came about, but by the end, the grand am wasn't worth the money it would have taken to get it back in safe working order. I've got other family and friends who had similar years of grand ams and also weren't happy with them once they reached higher mileage.
