Question:
My husband and I are buying a used SUV (we have an Explorer now and are selling it) and are trying to figure out what to get - - we need a mid-size SUV. Our price is up to $12,000, and we need something with gas mileage of at least an average of 20 mpg. (And we like sitting up as high as possible, if that means anything). Also safety is always the preference. What kind of SUV should we get?

Get another Explorer? or a Ford Escape. The new Ford Edge is a fantastic crossover. How come when you buy something that cost thousands of dollars you still have to spend money on it ?
Well... Sitting up as high as possible and getting at least 20 mpg is a tall order. You kind of have to sacrifice one for the other. Honda Pilot isn't terribly low, and it gets around that mileage, but the Toyota 4Runner is a bit higher, though it doesn't get as good gas mileage.I want a fast car for close to 5k.?
Buick SUV because it rides great, roomy, looks great and gets decent gas mileage.More Questions & Answers ...
