Schwinn! JK You are safe with anything Japanese. Think Toyota or Honda. Nissan also has a new car out called a Versa that gets 36mpg and looks like a nice ride. If I had to pick a car right now and I wanted to stay at a good price, I would definitely look at the Versa. If price is not an issue, you might look at a smaller Volvo like the S40. Unfortunately, I have not seen a good American car which seems to be reliable and gets good mileage. Most of the American cars like the Chevy Aveo are made in other countries and get surprisingly poor gas mieage for their size. Just like during the energy crisis of the 70's, the American manuacturers seem to like to build rolling ships that get poor mileage and self destruct when they get 100k. I hope they wake up soon as I would really like to buy American.
