How do I get out of a bad car purchase decision?

Question:
In August of 2005 I bought a 2004 nissan Sentra with 24K miles. Now it has 44K miles. I am financing it right now. I was charged high interest because of past credit issues.
I bought it for 11$ and until this day, the payoff is $10K.
Because of some accidents I have gone through + some speed tickets combined, my insurance alone went to $400/m. So I am paying to drive alone almost $700. My credit is till not where it should be. I acknowledged my mistakes of not taking care of my credit in the past the way I should have and also of the speed tickets I had gotten. After taking ownership of my mistakes, I want to get out of that situation. Is there a way out? What should I do? Thank you for caring! God bless you all!

Which is the better pick? A Nissan Altima or Ford Escape?

i own a shop and about the only way out of this is to sell the Nissan since it has low miles on it,and if its in real good condition you might actually come out ahead on it,or at the least get out of that debt, anything you do other than that would probably put you father in debt ,its good your trying to repair all the damage to your credit, its never too late to do this,id try and sell the car, that would help a lot, that's too much money to be paying out just to be driving ,not many people could handle that load, just sit down and think about it,there's always a way out, nothing is impossible, good luck with this,i hope it works out.

You have to pay the note off. I have been in your shoes (being upside down on a car) so I know the situation well. Honestly your car will probably last until you pay it off if you take care of it so as much as it sucks for now, keep driving it till you pay it off. Don't let someone convince you to roll the negative equity into a new car, that will only screw you more later. Although you are technically required to carry full coverage when you finance a vehicle, your lender won't know if you drop it down to liability only. That would be a lot cheaper and you will still be driving legally. It is a gamble because your car would not be covered in a wreck however it is a much better gamble than trying to pay 700 bucks a month and risking defaulting on your loan. Drive safely and carefully. If someone else hits you, your car will get fixed or paid off anyways. If you can, cancel your insurance completely and ride the bus to work. Like I said, your insurance company will not notify your lender (they don't care) and if you aren't driving it, there is little risk involved. If you have to have a car, I would strongly suggest lowering your policy to whatever the lowest limits your state allows. Keep shopping insurance companies too... get literally 20 quotes. Look for an insurance broker who may be able to do the shopping for you. You may be surprised what deals you can find on insurance if you shop around enough.

Does anyone know where i can find a good running used car for sale?

You didn't make a bad car purchase decision at all.

If I am selling my car, what steps do I need to take?

You chose to drive like an idiot and not pay your debts or take your responsibilities seriously now you are realizing that you have to pay for it.

Where is the best place to finance a car in california, for someone with bad credit?

Tough luck. Grow up. Learn from your mistakes. And stop looking for someone else to find you an easy way out.
