mazda's are traditionally very reliable. Most mazda's Older ones especially, will need a timing belt replacement around 100,000miles. manufacturer will reccomend 60,000. the head gasket went out on my old mazda mx6 at 170k. remember, any car you get, oil and all of its fluids are the life blood and you need to change them regularly.
