Toyota corrolla 06/07 who has bought one? Tell me your experience?

I am shopping, please tell me your experience, I am trying to buy one, im not finding anyone going below a couple hundred below msrp. Is this typical? Am I doing something wrong or is this the standard? please help.

Corolla is such a hot selling car - you will not see it listed for much less than MSRP but you CAN negotiate a pretty significant discount since they do so much in volume. Don't let any dealer tell you that they are losing money on the car blah blah blah - they have something called "holdbacks" that they get to profit off of and so they can actually sell it for less than invoice and still make money. Do a web search for "fax attack buying car" or something like that, it's a highly recommended way of buying new cars.

I haven't bought one, but I am familiar with the deals offered on the Corolla for the last couple of years. Generally, there isn't a large rebate offered on the Corolla (at most $500 or 750) because there is not much of a mark up in this vehicle (difference between invoice and MSRP) and it's such a hot seller.
