If ur in UK, unless the garage sold u a dud car u cannot expect the garage to give u ur full money back just because its not any good 4u. U should have checked it out properly and took it 4 a long test drive b4 buying.. The garage will possibly buy it back but will not give u back what u paid them, unless u decide to buy another car off them, but more expensive. U may be lucky and the garage may exchange the car 4 another, straight swap, some garages will do this because u will be so happy they did and u will tell everyone about how the garage helped u out, hence u could get the garage more buisness.

PS. Dont push them anymore 4 ur money back as u will only piss them off. If the car is in good mechanical and bodily order then the garage has done nothing wrong. If however u see any defects in steering or brakes or anything that is checked in MOT and u have been given a new mot with ur car and it hasnt done much miles after and u suspect that ur car has been given a duff mot then u have ammo, but u have to be careful because if u start accusing them 4 giving ur car a duff mot u will piss them off even more, but if ur right and ur car has a duff mot then ur in with 99>999 % chance of getting ur money back as the garage wont want whoever supplied the mot cert to get into serious bother. Here is a tip, photo copy all ur car docs u were given as proof what was on them incase4 needed.
If the garage looks and acts reputabilly then he is doing nothing wrong as he sold u a car hopefully in good sound and safe order, in fact he didnt sell u it, u bought it, there is a difference depending how you approached him when buying a car, did u say I like that car over there and I want to buy it? or were u looking around and he asked u what type of car u needed, then he pushes the one u bought, if so he sold it to u although u bought it. Whenever buying a car or anything, u r stronger when u let them be the seller wanting to sell the car to u, rather than u saying I want to buy this car, right away u have expressed intrest that u wish to buy it and the person selling has got u.
