under $2000 cute = trashed , get something that looks like a grandpa would drive , made by Toyota , Honda or Nissan , even if it has a couple of dents , is there an AAA or something similar you can join ? they will do mechanical inspections for cheap and offer towing and roadside assist packages , get 4 winter tires for winter , all seasons for the rest of the year . good luck , be safe

youre not going to find anything magnificent for 2 grand. I would say get something reliable rather than something "cool." Try something like an old toyota camry or carolla. Maybe you could grab an old tundra or Tacoma if you like trucks.
