What is the most high tech value (less than @20k car) that I can get?

I am looking to purchase a somewhat new car (2000 and beyond) but do not care about looks or engine power as much as technology and sound. Is there any car like this that I can get for under 20,000 dollars?

Get a used subaru Impreza WRX (maybe STi if you are feeling adventurous) they never break get reasonable gas milage, and have a very "hightech" engine and drivetrain.
