You CAN get a decent car loan, even with bad credit. I've done it, but you'll have to look around. That's one of the BIG mistakes people make...just taking the first offer that's given to them when they go to the dealer. Shop around with lenders who specialize in bad credit car loans. It's a better option, you don't have to take what they're offering if you don't want it, and it's better than dealing with the car dealer's people.

Dealers need to run the credit to protect themselves. they don't care about some snot nosed kid saying "trust me". They have a business to look out for!

Btw, every credit report run for car loans counts as just ONE inquiry if done within 2 weeks window. Doesn't matter if it's 10 or 20, counts as just one. So stop worrying about some bullsh*t about your credit taking a hit. It goes down maybe 5 pts... big friggin deal. If so worried, pay cash.
You can get a Transunion, Experian or an Equifax report for yourself. Most likely though the dealer will still want to get a report for himself.
