Question:
im buying my first car (im 17)this spring and have been shopping around for different deals. Ideally i would like something with all wheel drive because of my job in winter (i work for a snow removal company and the time i go to work the streets arent clean.im supplied with a truck when i get there). i can live without it however. anyway my dilema is this should i buy a 4wd 1992 chevy K1500 crew cab for $3500 CDN or a 2006 chevy cobalt for $59 CDN a week for almost 5 years or a chevy aveo/ pontiac pursuit for about $165CDN a month for 2 years (lease)
Answers:
Should my next car be an automatic or manual transmission, and what are the advantages of both?
i would stay away from a lease, they are cheaper, but you dont own anything when your done, youve just wasted all your money and have nothing, like an apartment. but if its all you can do its better than nothing i suppose. personally if i were in your situation, i would go with the older chevy, you can pay it off much sooner and your not bound to anything. then you have more room, your young and you dont need to be in debt yet, trust me i was in the same boat and got a brand new car, and then a few years ago it was almost paid off, and i sold it to buy another new one, i would give anything to go back and keep my old car and not have a huge car payment. and the aveo you would probably never get any money for if you tried to sell, because those are so cheap new. stay cheap, save your money, youll be better off in the long run. What is a realistic price for this truck, if i were to sell it?
Pay cash for the pickup if you can. You don't want to be strapped with car payments at your age. I don't even want them at my age. The pickup will do everything you want it to, and if someone says you won't be able to afford the gas, just remember, it is cheaper than $59 a week for a new car.More Questions & Answers ...
