a nice toyota camry would be nice. im 18 and i have a 99 mustang..paid 5 grand for it. 93k miles with a little minor body damage. great car. i have blown away many ppl with that car lol (6 speed). i wouldnt suggest a honda civic or an accord because they are so easy to upgrade. that being said if she gets it shell want to put every earned penny into it as i have done..realizing its not needed later. i mean really. i dont need 6 neon lights, subs, hi end cd player, and neon shifter....coulda used that money for video games...but seriously toyota camry would be a great car. toyotas tend to hold their value and camrys get good gas mileage. so tell her happy birthday :DI'd go for a honda for sure. They're easy to fix and low maintenance and good looking cars. Stick with a sedan if you want lower insurance too.. Good luck.

if you are looking for a a car that has all these thing i would recomend a HONDA this would cover everything you are looking for at an affordable price trust me work in an automotive parts store for years.The new 2007 Honda Fit is an excellent car. It has Front airbags, side airbags and side curtain airbags. It also gets 31city 37 highway mpg, and hey, it's a honda. They never break down. They also come with great stereo's which your grand daughter should like. They start around 13k and you can get a fully loaded Sport model for 16,520. I actually bought one for my self because I have a long commute to work and it gets great fuel milage. I have no complaints about the car aside from it being a little on the slow side.
