Car depreciation- are there any good American cars that depreciate quickly, but are actually quality?

It seems like the Ford Focus, for example, has a low re-sale price at about 7K miles, but some people LOVE their Focuses.

Chrysler is the worst for resale value. Usually, cheaper cars usually have a lower resale value, as well as common cars. It doesn't mean that quality is any less, it just means that they don't usually sell for much after they are used. You can pick up some good quality used cars this way. My family has alwasy bought used cars, the only new cars we have ever owned we still own, a 1996 Plymouth Voyager adn a 1997 Dodge Dakota. we also have a 1989 Ford Ranger and a 1997 Chrysler Concord that were bought used. but they are all very good cars and all run very well. I nearly sold my Ranger and bought a focus, but I'm one of the people who need a truck, and I love my Ranger too much to get rid of it.

There are many great American cars. A lot of people have been brainwashed to think only the Japanese build high quality vehicles and it simply isnt true. Check out GM's rankings in various surveys and you will see what I mean. What does resale price have to do with how much someone loves theirs? I love my Chrysler Pacifica and I could car less how much is will sell for. By they way, its a very well build, high quality car.

all cars depreciate quickly, even FOREIGN junk. There are a lot of good cars out there but it all depends how the car was maintained, if you don't do maintainence on your car it's not going to last long.

actually. chrysler has the highest resale value of all the american made automobiles. not true for trucks but their cars are better than the rest. as far as well made cars. the ford taurus has always had a good following but will have tranny problems more than likely around 100-125k miles. the ford focus is a decent car. believe it or not the dodge neon is a great made vehicle. i hardly ever get them in my shop. the dodge stratus/chrysler sebring is also a well made car. although the 6cyl is better than the 4cyl on those. i honestly would not buy anything gm, engines are fine but lost of squeeks and rattles, the interior falls apart.
