Question:
I bought a car from city auction at 04/26/06. I have the "Auction Sales Receipt". I didn't get the title because I never used it. It is running but it is an old car. I want to sell the car. My friend said when I sell the car if I sign the back of the sale receipt, the buyer can get the title for himself. Is it true or do I have to get the title to sell it?
Thanks

Depends on the state and the year of the car....many states, like Georgia, do not issue titles for 25 yr old cars.Anyone know of a nice used camper for sale in or around PA? Thanks?
Diffrent states have diffrent laws but usualy you have to have the title and sign it over to the person that buys your vehicle. Just call a dmv near you the will give you all the info you need!!How much is the sales tax on a $50,000 used car in California?
it is possible that this is correct...however I think if you bought the car at the auction...unless you are a dealer you would have to register the car in your name first and get the title. What you are talking about is "jumping title"..Basically it means you bought the car..didn't register it and sold it to someone else...in my state that's illegal. I'm thinking you will have to register the car then sell it with title.what happens after your reposesed truck goes to auction and money is still owed?
Sorry.
what kind of car should an 18 year old get entering college?
Maybe you can get someone you know who deals in cars to help you but I'm gonna bet that you shoulld register it yourself first..sell it then get the money back on the tags after you sell it.
can I terminate my auto lease early?
It depends on which state you live in. I would call the Department of Motor Vehicles in your state and ask(or check them out on line)More Questions & Answers ...
