We have almost a 4 year old Acura TSX and our lease is up in a few months. We just got a new set of tires ($650) and already have 50,000 miles on the car which is only supposed to be at 48,000 when we turn it in so we'll have to pay that mileage. We also have to get our navigation screen fixed because it somehow got broken but it still works. We have bought the screen and have it coming in to an auto shop where my husband knows someone that can fix it for us.

We really want to get a Honda CRV but afraid we'll end up paying too much for the mileage extras and then our payment will be outrageous but we also don't want to buy this car and be paying on it for another several years. What should we do?

you need to see what your buyout amount is compared to what the vehicle is worth. you should be able to get the buyout amount off your lease papers. your only 2000 miles over, so that shouldn't be too bad maby a couple hundred at the most. you need to just do the figures and see where your going to end up. you can go to the dealer and they will do all the figuring for you. but try to make sure they don't screw you (tell them your going to think it over) good luckWhat kind of car sould i get.?

See the troubles that you have with you current vehicle now .are a drop in the bucket !After 5 years a vehicle will begin to show it's age.then things break down .and the never-ending repairs ...brakes ...mufflers...engine troubles ...and the list goes on .
So what .you got to pay for the extra 2000 miles .
Then you have the buy out price & taxes on top of that .

The Honda CRV would be a better option. The cost differencial would almost balance out ..

Question on the navigation screen.If it broke on it's own, doesn't warranty cover it?
And only 2000 miles over isn't that much.
I'd say, turn it in early so you won't get the miles up.

And as for CR-V, try to get 15,000 miles per year.
In lease, you have option of choosing btw 15k or 12k miles per year.

But my advice to you is take it to the dealer and try to negotiate w/ them.
Turn the car in bit early. And pay for the milege. which i believe it's going to be $500 assuming that it's .25 per mile.
Or another option would be, go to the Honda dealer, and ask'em that you want the CR-V but you have a problem w/ the TSX. They'll try to working something out for ya.
And as for CR-V...try to get it $1500 below MSRP.
It's even great if you can get it cheaper.
But remember, dealers can make money through various stuff. So before you go into a dealer, call a dealership and find out the lease for CR-V. Hope you have a great credit = )
After finding our the lease for CR-V, call another dealer and compare it. After you get the price, go into the dealer and ask'em that you need to get rid of your TSX and get the same price for the CR-V that you have shopped for.
Try to call at least 3 different places.
