Need a new car for $2k or less?

Question:
I need a new car desperatly and don't know where to get one. I have no credit and no co-signer. I really only want a cheap car that I can pay off quick but will still last for longer than a year. I'm in chicago...any ideas?

well with out any credit Ur not gonna get a great car... but i guess u asked for a car under 2G's... i would suggest looking around for someone selling their car on the side of the road/ in-front of their home, a car priced around 2.5 thousand. then you should call and offer 2000 and see what they say. its often possible that they are out to scam people and if people are willing to pay whatever they ask they make more money. if that's the case they may settle for your offer, especially if its been on the market awhile... otherwise used car lots although those are generally overpriced as well.

You're not getting any "new" car for 2 grand. You could put a down payment on one but you say you don't want payments... Honostly for 2k you have just about no chance of getting somthing decent. The best you can hope for with that amount of money is a car that would make a good fixer upper but I doubt you have the know how to fix up a car. Save up more money if you want something you can depend on. You get what you pay for.
