What's a good car to buy for around 5,000 in a state like Wisconsin?
Both are known to be better than the other on a few things, all depends your needs on.
The common complaints have been that GM interiors are a bit more plasticky than the norm, although they have been improving quite a bit. In that spectrum, Ford is ahead in interior material qualities where many vehicles like the F-150, and Lincoln MKZ and even Mustang have been awarded awards for those.
As for as trucks, both are good but the F-150 is the benchmark...there's a reason it's been the #1 selling vehicle in the world for many years, and in the U.S. for 29 years. I'm supplying a link which compared the F-150's construction with competitors, it's a real eye opener at some of the chitzy construction the Tundra and Titan have.
As for transmissions, GM has always had better reliability (in the 80's-90's) with their hydramatic transmissions on FWD vehicles, over Fords. Although Ford currently out-sources some of their transmissions, Ford has moved to 6 speed automatic units, where GM has used 4 speeds and currently continiously does so. Although both have teamed up to produce a new 6Speed automatic that both have recently introduced months ago on new vehicles.
Any tips for selling a vehicle back to a car dealership?
GM still loves using OHV engines, which for their size and architecture it's a bit archaic compared to the competition which is using more refined and sophisticated OHC designed engines. Although, this has allowed GM to save a bit of money on designing newer engines because most customers won't look under the hood, or know what propels their vehicle.
GM has invested billions on Cadillac, pushing it up market because they didn't have a upper-premium brand that battled with MBenz or BMW, while letting Buick take the spot Cadillac used to have, although what the payback of the investment has been, yet has not been determined just yet. Ford has had Jaguar which they improved the reliability to Lexus near quality, and has topped Lexus in customer satisfaction for a year or 2 according to JDPower.
Which among the american cars compact or midsize, has a reliabilty comparable to jap cars?
Both have vehicles which rate higher than foreign competitors in reliability and intial quality. Although they both suffer from the opposite perception. Ironically anyone who sees over their bias, will see that domestic automakers have improved substantially, and lead their foreign competitors in reliability.but peoples perception or acceptance have not changed.
Both currently face issues with the UAW, rising health-care costs which are strangling them, and a political administration which hasn't done anything to help them, in comparison to foreign automakers.
I've heard that women run the risk of being duped by a car salesman when going to...?
So where does this all fall? Both have their strong points and weak points, but they are both in the same battle-field and really, they are in the same side, as much as many others would disagree on.
I have bad credit and want to buy a car. what are some predictions?
Hope this helps... ;-)
I prefer a Chevy. I've always had very reliable Chevy's. My cousin likes fords but all but one of his is sitting broke down in his garage and yard. Parts for a ford are more expensive also.
Whats the average price to rent a car for day?
neither, they both have cute cars.Chevy cause they have more variety of cars and they're more reliable too.
Chevys are easier to work on, cheaper to fix, easier to find parts for, cheaper to buy & last just as long.
