The Fiesta (2002-2006) 1.25 is better than the 1.3 (newer technology in the engine) and is £105/year on tax, if you get the LX you miss out on alloys but you get air con, CD player, other nice little touches.

Try buying a 2 or 3 year old Dihatsu Charade,the lowest on car insurance and goes for ever on 10 pounds worth of fuel.Can pick one up at a car auction for around 2.500 to 3.500 pounds,best of luck.
