Looking into purchasing smaller ext- cab 4x4 from early 90s and I want to hear your stories good and bad on your pick up trucks especially things that broke regularly/mechanical problems. Ones that you regret buying.

i own a repair shop,and i like the early ones a lot better than the late model ones ,i also own a 95 model s-10 4x4 and it has given me years of great service,with no problems at all on it,i think all the older ones was a little better than the newer ones are now ,but then that opinion differs among other people,but anything that's in good shape ,from the early 90,s would probably be alright,id try and stay away from real high mileage if i was you,there are some out there with low miles on them,but all of them really are as good as they have been taken care of,i know of brand new ones that already have been ran through lakes ,and everything else,so it all depends on who has had it,and how well they maintained it,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Always kinda liked the dodge D50. It was not a very popular p/u so the prices are always lower (but kinda hard to find now). They were very easy (and cheap) to fix as well. Late 80's early 90's Dodge was trying very hard to remake its image and had some pretty good trucks (if its a truck you actually want, and not a high riding, low gas mileage, people hauler).
If u bought a car and then dont want it anymore can u return it?
Also heard some good reports about Isuzu's. but am not sure if they had a 4wd ext cab or not.
