Oregon does not have sales tax, but you have to be a resident get out of paying sales tax.Which older model cars from the year 1999-2002 can hold alot of miles and still run good?

Pleeeeeez help i want to know which car is better?
Buy the car in Nevada. They will not collect sales tax if you show an out of state license and address.
Where ever the vehicle is registered, that state will require proof sales tax has been paid, or they will charge it.
Which colour to go in buying Honda civic? Choice are - Habanero Red or Galaxy Grey?
Nope. Its a tax on the sale, doesn't matter where you live.I have a limited budget for a used van. What is the best value for under $ 6000 ?
Why don't you go to Nevada? If Oregon does not have sales tax, then it doesn't matter. I bought my car in Nevada (where I lived at the time) and moved back to CA. Because it was less then a year since I bought the car, I had to pay the difference in sales tax (almost $800). Freakin CA!!! But if you're leaving the country, then it shouldn't matter. You have to be a resident of Oregon in order to avoid paying the sales tax on the car. You will be taxed according to where you register the car.
Should I make repairs to my car before I sell it or trade it in?
Yes. The place where the buyer takes possession determines the point of sale. You should check with the DMV, however, as they have restrictions on registering new cars purchased out of state. You should choose a car that has 50 state emissions approval, as Oregon does not have the emissions regulations that CA, NY and some other states require.Where ever you register the car you will have to pay taxes.
Yes, you would not have to pay sales tax in Oregon when you purchase the car...And, no you would not pay tax in California, if you are not going to Register & License there. Yet, you will not be able to export it until it is registered. And you will have to pay taxes on the vehicle when you do register it here in the U.S.
