I am looking to buy a new car and I'd like something that does well in bad weather. My husband wants me to get an SUV with four-wheel drive - but I don't want a huge vehicle that will be difficult to park. What would you recommend?

Go out and get yourself a Suburu. I personally preer the Outback, it handles like a car, handles weather like a 4WD SUV and has plenty of space and amenities. Hands-down the best car for all weather conditions.Advice needed on buying a second hand car. Less years or less mileage is better?

Check out the New Jeep Patriot!! They are awesome, and not that expensive. The gas mileage is great too. The Jeep Compass is great too its like a 4wd car.Is it worth getting a classic muscle from the late 60's - early 70's?

1. Subaru Outback. Great for snow, as is the Forester.
2. Volvo XC90. A Little more expensive, but better content
3. Audi A6 allroad quatto. this isn't just all-wheel drive, but really 4-wheel. Fantastic for incliment weather, but rather pricey.

While living in Minnesota for several years I/we drove a Toyota Camray. Never got stuck in the snow. Always started, keep good all weather tires on it so never lost control. Being front wheel you will be packing the snow instead of plowing it like rear wheel drive. Safety features are not as good as other vehicles; like, a Hyundai Elantra. Same features as the Camray; but, more room, and more air bags (Driver, passenger and complete enclosure of sides to include rear seat passengers). Also, better warranty, 150,000 miles, 10 years with a 24 hr, 7 day roadside assistance for 5 years with unlimited miles. So if you do get stuck in the snow they will come out and pull you out for free and if your car needs to go in the shop for repairs they will give you a car to drive for free regardless of how long it takes to repair yours. They also have a front wheel drive SUV which should do well in the snow as long as you put some weight on the rear axles (about 500 lbs of sand bags in cargo area for rear traction in snow). or a little larger vehicle check out the Sonata. Better yet, pull it up on your computer and check out all the favorable comments on Hyundai vehicles.
